OMG Dispo your Patients

Mid levels (PA’s and NP’s) are supposed to make our lives easier – and of course cost a lot less. They can handle the cast majority of stuff in the ER once they have some experience. They should only need just a little direction here and there with the occasional more challenging case.

They should not flail helplessly and be unable to dispo most of their patients. They shouldn’t have to ask me about every little thing and then have me just take the bull by the horns and make a decision. The whole point of their presence is to make my life easier, not harder and busier!

They should not interrupt me every 5 minutes while I’m trying to work on my own patients. God if they are going to do that, they may as well be a nurse. (just kidding!)
